MIG / TIG / ARC
The Abbey Group have been involved in steel fabrication and construction since 1995, in which time we have gained BS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System accreditation. We are experienced in undertaking and managing construction sites under CDM regulations, acting as Principle Contractor and Subcontractor ensuring maximum safety is achieved and maintained at all times.
Our resident engineering team fabricate the steelwork in our Knowsley facility, prior to erection and installation on site, therefore ensuring continuity of the highest manufacturing standards.
Stud Welding
The Abbey Group have invested in both the equipment and the staff training and development to be qualified and certified for Stud Welding in the Nuclear industry.
Stud welding is a technique similar to flash welding where a fastener or specially formed nut is welded onto another metal part, typically a base metal or substrate. The fastener can take different forms, but typically fall under threaded, unthreaded, or tapped. The bolts may be automatically fed into the stud welder.
